| | | | Based in Rochester, NY, the Essex organization has been in the development, ownership and management of hotels and multi-family real estate since the mid-1980’s. In aggregate, these assets have represented over 3,500 hotel rooms and nearly 3,800 residential units located in 13 eastern states. We have developed opportunities from the ground up, and also have purchased and repositioned existing properties.
Our team has been through several economic cycles and understands what it takes to be successful, both to capitalize on the opportunities and to be prepared for the inevitable bumps in the road. While we are optimists by nature, we understand that things rarely move in a straight line. We also have come to understand our strengths and limitations – and have found that partnering with others enables us to focus on what we do best.
The Essex team has developed and operated a number of different hotel brands including Hampton Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Courtyard by Marriott , Microtel Inns & Suites, Ramada Inn and Red Roof Inn & Suites.
While initially an owner-operator, Essex began providing independent third party management services in 2002 and are an approved management company for the top select service brands with numerous awards and recognitions for turnaround improvements and operational excellence.
